Our Principal

April 18, 2022
Dear Pacific Sky Families,
It is with anticipation and excitement that I introduce myself as the principal of Pacific Sky School. It is an honor to serve our school community filled with exceptional students, families, and staff. I have fulfilled a variety of roles in the Del Mar Union School District for the past 18 years. My passion for education and supporting the success of all students has continued to be shaped as I have taught primary and upper grades, served as a Teacher on Special Assignment in the Instructional Services Department, and as both assistant principal and principal. I am thrilled to come together as a community to create an extraordinary school experience for those attending Pacific Sky.
I have a deep belief that relationships are the foundation for everything involving teaching and learning. It is vital that students, families, and staff feel connected to one another as well as to their school. As principal, I will put relationships first, taking the time to reach out to all stakeholders, engaging with you and listening. You will see me in the front of school, in learning spaces, and on playgrounds getting to know our students and families at deeper levels. I will work closely with staff to ensure they feel supported, empowered, and thrive as educators.
Additionally, I believe in the power of collective capacity. An excellent education is not possible without the collaboration of students, parents, and staff. At Pacific Sky, we will work to ensure a collaborative culture for everyone based on interdependence, human connection, and trust. My hope is our parent community will be an integral part of the team whether it be through our Parent Teacher Association, Del Mar Schools Education Foundation, involvement on various school committees, attending family events, or lending your expertise to enhance learning opportunities for students. Your time, commitment, and perspective is valued.
For me, the opening of Pacific Sky cannot get here fast enough! My hope is that there is a continual sense of joy and excitement throughout the school year. Learning is a social process, and we must provide an environment where curiosity is nurtured and developed. It is our goal that each child feels safe, experiences joy, and has opportunities to engage in meaningful, relevant learning. I commit to nurturing a healthy school culture for all and can’t wait to meet each of you.
With Gratitude,
Alison Fieberg
